Red clover (Trifolium pratense), a plant source of isoflavones (phytoestrogens), traditionally associated with menopause.
Role, benefits & use
All about Red Clover · Isoflavones
Red clover (Trifolium pratense) is a common plant of European meadows, but it is above all its richness in isoflavones that is of interest to supplements dedicated to women's well-being. Isoflavones are plant compounds from the phytoestrogen family: molecules of plant origin whose structure resembles that of oestrogens, the female hormones.
As such, red clover is, along with soy, one of the plants traditionally associated with the support of perimenopause and menopause in the female pharmacopoeia. It is a flagship ingredient of plant-based “menopause” programmes. Important compliance note: health claims relating to red clover and isoflavones are “on hold” at European level; we do not present them as authorized claims.
In the Nutremys menopause formula, red clover appears within the balancing botanical blend, alongside soy isoflavones, dong quai, evening primrose, ashwagandha and maca.
