L-theanine, the amino acid of green tea, traditionally associated with a state of focused calm, without drowsiness.
Role, benefits & use
All about L-Theanine
L-theanine is an amino acid found almost exclusively in green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis). It is what gives tea its particular ability to provide a state of calm wakefulness, unlike the restlessness sometimes caused by coffee: it is often described as a state of "focused calm" or relaxation without drowsiness.
Increasingly popular in supplements dedicated to relaxation, stress management and sleep, L-theanine is particularly appreciated at the end of the day. For transparency, please note: L-theanine is not the subject of any health claim authorised by EFSA; we present it solely on the basis of its traditional use.
In the Nutremys TotalRestore formula, L-theanine is combined with magnesium bisglycinate and L-tryptophan, a trio designed to support relaxation and restorative sleep, away from stimulants.
