Highly bioavailable marine collagen peptides (fish) — the fundamental building block of skin, hair, nails and joints.
Role, benefits & use
All about Hydrolysed Marine Collagen
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body: it forms the framework of the skin, hair, nails, tendons, cartilage and bones. It is a kind of "cement" that keeps our tissues firm and supple. From the age of 30, our natural collagen production drops by about 1% per year, a decline that accelerates sharply at menopause — hence the growing interest in collagen as a food supplement.
Hydrolysed marine collagen is extracted from the skin and scales of fish, then "hydrolysed": broken down into peptides of very low molecular weight for optimal absorption by the body. It is particularly rich in type I and III collagen, the most abundant in the skin, whereas type II mainly targets joint cartilage.
At Nutremys, we have chosen a high-dose liquid marine collagen, combined with vitamin C (essential to the natural formation of collagen), hyaluronic acid and biotin. A "beauty of the skin, hair and nails" synergy designed for women over 40 and periods of hormonal transition.
Health claims
What the EFSA says
Collagen itself does not have a health claim authorised by EFSA. In our formulas, it is systematically combined with vitamin C, whose authorised claim is:
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones and cartilage.
